I decided to write about my journey of discovering Justin Bieber, what’s he done for me and actually having the amazing opportunity of meeting him. I wrote a lot so enjoy. These are just my opinions and of course not everyone agrees and that’s fine because this is my story, not anyone else’s . Enjoy!

Crazy is right! You know I’ve always known about Justin Bieber, I remember seeing a YouTube video a few years back of a young kid singing Neyo’s “So Sick”. I didn’t think much of it, I was impressed and so I watched as he put up more videos and his views increasingly went up. I didn’t take much notice to him until the incident at a Long Island Mall happened a few days after My World debuted. Wow, one kid caused all of this?! Then I really started to pay attention. However, it wasn’t until Justin uploaded a video of him and his guitarist and friend Dan Kanter performing an acoustic version of “Baby” which was the first time anyone had heard it, onto YouTube. I was hooked and I have been ever since.

A lot of people said the same things over and over like a broken record; “He sounds like a girl!” or “He’s gay!” Radio stations NEVER played his music well at least the ones in my city, maybe one or two times but that was the extent of it. I would just laugh at people who said those things which were mostly my guy friends. I mean the kid was 15 years old, did you expect him to have a voice like Barry White?! I’m pretty sure my guy friends’ voices squeaked a lot and were high pitched at that age. As for saying he’s gay that was just ignorance! I look at everything now and it’s completely different. The same people, who hated on him, are now professing their love and respect for him. I can’t turn on my radio without “Boyfriend” playing at least 2-3 times within an hour, and I LOVE it. He did it and he’ll keep converting haters. I smile at some of my friends who say “Okay, okay I like Justin Bieber now.” because I always knew his potential, that he’d go far and that he was actually talented. REALLY talented.

One of the best days of my life is hands down the day I attended Justin’s My World tour when he came to my city. The kid knows how to put on a show! I forgot about anything and everything I was going through and just had fun. Crazy to think one person can bring millions happiness. You know a lot of people his age and mine are just living normal lives, going to school and hanging out with friends. He gets to travel the world, meet incredible people, perform for thousands of people and do amazing things I only dream about. Justin has earned everything he’s ever gotten; it wasn’t just given to him. The fact that through his crazy touring schedule he MADE time to grant a wish from the Make-A-Wish Foundation every single show on the North American leg of the tour that’s almost over 80 wishes, he donated money that was made from his Christmas album “Under the Mistole” to Charity and  he’s involved with a charity called Pencils of Promise. That’s crazy right?! I honestly didn’t expect that from someone his age but it’s great to see young people take advantage of their position in a positive way.

Now we are getting to the BEST part and this day goes down as the HAPPIEST day of my life so far. So, literally six days ago I’m on Twitter and I see a tweet from Mtv News saying that they need fans of Justin Bieber for a shoot in LA. Hmm…Justin Bieber and Mtv? I’m in! So I responded to the e-mails, never thinking that I’d actually go. I honestly didn’t even think he’d be there but as I started to see that there was going to be an interview with him, I got excited. I get an e-mail that I was chosen to go, more excitement ensues. Thursday rolls around and I told myself not expect anything just go and have an experience.

When I was actually inside the Petersen Automotive Museum and the producers from Mtv were explaining what was going to happen, I still did not think this was real.  Then, Sway walks by and I’m freaking out! Inside of course, ha! I could just imagine how I’d feel when Justin would actually be in the same room as me. When the time finally came and he arrived I was in complete awe the entire time. He was merely 5 feet from me; Justin Bieber was 5 feet from me! Things like that just don’t happen to people like me, I was just happy to be in his presence. In my mind I remembered that for the past 3 years I saw him on TV or on the computer and in concert but to see him up close just doesn’t compare. It’s like he’s not even real, he is very handsome! Which I already knew but in person he’s perfect in my eyes. While the interview took place I was right next to the camera that was directly on Justin and a few times he looked over and maybe once or twice we locked eyes. Again, I’m freaking out on the inside, I was probably smiling like an idiot. What can I say? Now, here’s the best part! The interview was over and people asked for photos and he said yes! What, I actually get a photo with him?! No, this is not happening! Thank God, I did get a photo because I probably would still think it was a dream. I was the last person in line and when I approached him, he said “Hi!” and I just replied back “Hey!” yea real articulate right? Well I hadn’t rehearsed what I was going to say, I didn’t even think I’d be this close to him. As we posed for the picture, he talked to someone so I got to actually stand there for a few moments with his arm around my shoulders and take in this moment. I looked up at him (FYI: He’s so tall, well compared to my 5’2 frame!) and took it all in. I was like Alex, things like this don’t happen often, remember this moment because opportunities like this don’t come by often. Remember all of it. For me, Justin Bieber is the cream of the crop. Haha… let me explain that comparison, to me when it comes to meeting people who are celebrities or people who I admire and inspire me, he’s it. The fact that I got to meet him still blows my mind, no one can take that moment away from me. Like I’ve said before I was just happy to be on a set with cameras with Mtv because one day I want to be involved in the entertainment industry. Never in a million years did I think I’d get to meet him, yea I’d thought I’d go to concerts but actually see him physically in front of me was just a dream. Never say never right? I look at the picture and I still think it didn’t happen, it was too surreal.

I loved Justin Bieber before meeting him and afterwards I admire him so much more. He took a picture with every single person, he was genuinely happy to interact with his fans. It’s a rare sight to see because other celebrities tend not to show much gratitude but Justin Bieber is very thankful for everything. People need take a note from the Justin Bieber book and handle fans with respect because he knows what he’s doing. So I say thank you to Justin Bieber because after meeting you, I’m inspired to get my butt out there and follow my dreams. It’s crazy where life can take you…
